Week 7 Recaps

The 2017 BSL regular season is officially over. It turned out that no teams changed standings this week and the final playoff spot was awarded without the beneficiary even playing a game. This regular season had many records broken and the competition level reaching an all time high. Jibran Waqar smashed the record for most homeruns in a season, Rehan Ahmad most hits, highest average and most RBIs in a season, Atif Khan for most runs scored in a season, Michael Arlitt with 6 hits in a game, Zahid Merchant for lowest ERA in a season, and the Nasrids scored 30 runs for the most in a game. There is plenty of celebrate but that will have to wait until the most important season is over, the post-season. We bid farewell to the Ayyubids and the Abbasids. Both teams should be proud of their accomplishments and sportsmanship. They missed out on the playoffs this year but many of them still had career years. We are sure we will see them again next year.

The playoff matchups are set. Wild card and Semi-finals will be played on Saturday September 9th. The third place game and Finals will be played on Sunday September 10th on BW1.

#3 Mamluks will play the #6 Seljuqs in the first wild card game for the rights to play the #2 Mughals in the Semi-finals.

#4 Sultans will play the #5 Nasrids in the second wild card game for the rights to play the #1 Ottomans in the Semi-finals.

Game times are still being finalized. Stay tuned later this week for more details.
