Ottomans Be a GM Fantasy Challenge Results

MESSAGE FROM THE OTTOMANS
(don't act like you did not LOVE seeing that pop up in your team group chats)

The inaugural Ottomans Be a GM Fantasy Challenge was a roaring success.  Thanks to the support of everyone from the League, we were able to make a $750 donation to Project Ramadan, allowing us to provide FIFTEEN food baskets for lesser privileged families in the GTA.  To learn more about this great initiative, check them out here

Fantasy Challenge Results

We had 29 submissions to the Fantasy Challenge, but only one can come out a victor.  The winner of the Challenge, picking a team that racked up 122 fantasy points on the day, was Imran Merchant of the Ayyubids!  Imran’s strategy was what you would expect of one of the leaders of his team – bet on yourselves.  Imran picked an Ayyubids heavy team, putting his full trust in Ahmad Ammad (the top performer on the day), Mohamed Kala, A R, Faiz Kalyani, and, being the confident man he is, himself! Congratulations – Imran’s interview will be posted in the coming weeks.  Here is the team he picked in full:

Top Player Performances on the Day

Ahmad Ammad was the top performer on the day, including smashing two home runs, the second being a grand slam, in the same inning against the Ottomans their opponents in Game Two.  His top score of 26 points edged out impressive performances from Bilal Javed (ABB), Shahzad Ahmed (SUL), Omer Dhaduk (SEL) and Baseer (!!!!!!!!) Yasseen (MAM).  Here is how the top five performers scored on the day:

The most picked player on the day was our very own Hassan Chaudhry, with 15 of the 29 ballots including him as their choice from Group D.  We recognize this as an irrelevant piece of information, but we had to show our guy some love.  However, he only scored 8 fantasy points on the day – it’s a good thing we didn’t make a midseason trade for him that made us part with the top candidate for Rookie of the Year. Wait, we did? Oh…

Anyway, thank you again for supporting a great cause and taking part in this fun initiative.  We hope to have even more participants (and raise even more funds) in next year’s challenge!

Sincerely, the Ottomans
